Unger receives the “Solid Bautech Award 2010”

The Unger Steel Group convinces once more with outstanding achievements in the construction industry and received the Solid Bautech Award 2010. Unger won this prestigious award for the technical challenges and construction part of the Viennese project ‘New Terminal of the Twin City Liner’ and achieved this first prize in the category ‘national projects'.

The new pier ‘Vienna City’ will extend about eight meters into the Danube Canal and seems to be floating on the water. The steel construction was built from the Unger Steel Group. The 127-meter building rests on three steel elements. Particularly unique is the lightweight concrete used for the composite floor, which was specially prepared for Unger Steel Group. Lafarge, the manufacturer of building materials, produced this kind of concrete, which was not produced in Austria yet.
