Vision Made of Steel Realized for NürnbergMesse

A highlight of modern architecture made of steel adorns the redesigned “Central Entrance”, one of the main entranceways to the NürnbergMesse exhibition center. It is intended to transform it, together with the associated conference area, into a “portal to success” for the trade fair visitors. The complex design has been implemented by the Unger Steel Group, which showed proof of its solution competence in structural steel engineering once again. The square in front of it is covered by a segmented inflated cushion roof with a height of 18 m and a length of 255 m that ends at an angle in a distinctive tip. The new conference hall “Brüssel” is housed, in addition to a spacious entrance area, under this roof. Its special architectural feature an overhang with a width of 3.6 m, which makes it look like it is suspended above the hall. The architects’ firm kadawittfeldarchitektur had already learned to appreciate cooperation with Unger on the occasion of previous joint construction projects. Consequently the client is more than satisfied and impressed with the comprehensive coordination service. For Unger, the NürnbergMesse is a further renowned project in the German region which demonstrates the realization of bold visions made of steel with the necessary know-how to an international audience.
