Topping-out ceremony for new terminal of the “Twin City Liner”

The new terminal at the Viennese Schwedenplatz is going ahead. Thanks to the great commitment of the whole project team the carcass work for the terminal is completed and the steely building envelope was finished on schedule. For that reason the Unger Steel Group arranged the traditional topping-out ceremony at the building site on the 14th of December 2010. Mag.a Renate Brauner, councilman for finance and economics and deputy mayor of Vienna, was handing over the topping-out tree joined by several guests of honour. After this, the tree was lifted and the guests could convince themselves of the architectural outstanding project during a site visit.

With the building of the new terminal Vienna receives a new harbour – responsible for the erection of the new terminal is Wiener Donauraum, an affiliate of the Wien Holding. The Unger Steel Group spotlights steel once more as important pillar of modern architecture and shows with its expertise the nearly borderless applications of this material.
